SandyB's Playbook

It's Quarter End. These last 12 weeks were pure adventure and learning on this journey of wins. We must be ok with change and moving forward after setbacks and losses.

What were the highlights of your past quarter?

How do you Win after a Loss? To experience loss of any kind is challenging. We often ask ourselves. Why is this happening to me? Why me. I've learned there is a better question to ask ourselves. One that helps us take back control by letting go.

Suppose we replace "Why is this happening to me?" And ask ourselves, What is the lesson I must learn in this situation? Things change after we acknowledge there is a lesson to be discovered.

A friend once told me. Why not you? Maybe this is a lesson for you to grow and learn. You did not get the promotion, but you got the opportunity to interview and learn the skills required for the position.

Maybe you were outbid for a contract you believed was yours. These are all opportunities to learn. It's up to us to acknowledge the lesson. Be willing to learn along the way. A loss is a lesson. You can still win after a loss. It would be best if you decided to win. It is a choice you have daily. Choose to learn and grow every day. Circle of life - We love you Bruno

My man is gone. We buried him on 9/23 in the backyard. Two months after his children arrived. It happened so quickly. Bruno slipped out so quickly. We believe he got hit by a car.

I'm going to miss his bark. I will never forget it. He was the first pet we buried. Many people loved Ratiy as the family has multiple names for him.

He had swag. He would give me these intense looks and walk me up the stairs each morning after my workouts. His tail was real thick, and you could hear it banging on the concrete at the side of the house. He was 11yrs old. He leaves Mama Peanut and their six puppies.

Sons Lil Bruno, BuckMoon, Blue Bear, and their daughters Milky Way, Brownie (Brownin), Snickers. And his Sister in Law Rickeisha, who he loved to torment and eat her food.

So many people are experiencing loss. Whether loss of a loved one or loss of a pet. Loss of a job, end of a marriage. We are all dealing with loss. Loss of our way of life as we knew it. It seems like we all have lost a lot in the last two years.

Challenge yourself each Quarter!

Our first challenge 7-Days to Beat Procrastination was fun! We had over 20 participants from around the globe decide to beat procrastination and win together. Here are 3 simple strategies to help beat procrastination. Give them a try and see if you can’t get into the habit of being productive every day instead of procrastinating. Make progress every single day!

Plan For It

It’s easy to make progress every day when you know exactly what you should be working on next. Make a plan and then decide what you will do each day of the week. Write it down in a planner and adjust daily as needed. In the morning, you can see at a glance what it is you should be doing. Then get to work on it first thing before the day gets away from you. I find it helpful to have my planner sitting right in front of me at my desk, keeping me on track.

Don’t Break The Chain

There’s something to be said about a chain or a streak. Record every day you don’t procrastinate on something. You can mark it on a monthly calendar or create a chain of sticky notes, stickers, or even one of those paper chains you used to make in preschool. The goal is simple. Don’t break the chain. Once you have a few days under your belt, you’ll be motivated to go the extra mile and do that one thing you need to do to avoid breaking the streak.

Check-In With Yourself

As you start to progress on the things you know you need to be doing, you should feel your anxiety reduce. Instead, you will feel your confidence go up. Don’t be surprised to feel proud of your accomplishments. Instead, use those feelings to propel you forward to more procrastination-free days. Procrastination is a habit. It’s something you learned to do, which means it’s something you can unlearn. Stick with it, make progress every day, and enjoy those feelings of accomplishment.
